Our Street Taco Story — 3 Generations

I’m Victor Briceno — Owner & Chef at OXO — and street tacos are personal. I come from three generations of authentic Mexican taco work.

My grandfather ran a tiny taco spot in Manuel Doblado, Guanajuato: a 10×10 shop with a garage door that opened onto a bar, and a concrete bench across from it. He’d open around 8–9am, and by 4–5pm he was sold out.

When he passed, my uncle kept the legacy alive with a taco cart — the way my grandpa started — and it still gets recognized everywhere. I grew up doing the unglamorous work too: washing dishes, cleaning, and learning what “done right” actually looks like.

At OXO, it’s his flavors, recipes, and techniques that shape how we build tacos today. We keep that same street-taco soul, but we do it with premium sirloin steak, fresh produce, and sauces we make in-house. Our signature is the pork belly taco — cut, cured, and cooked in house — finished with our cilantro sauce, a personal recipe that started at my first restaurant, Mundos Latin Kitchen in Ozark, Missouri.
